Fulfillment services forum 2023 - Road to Green E-commerce11/07/2023Implementing to Decision No. 200/QD-TTg dated February 14, 2017 and No. 221/QD-TTg dated February 22, 2021 of the Prime Minister on approval of action plan to improve competitiveness and develop Vietnam's logistics services by 2025, Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) organises the Fulfillment Services Forum 2023 with the theme "Road to Green E-Commerce".
According to the report for the first 6 months of 2023, retail e-commerce revenue in Vietnam is estimated at 10.3 billion USD, up about 25% over the same period, accounting for 7,7% total revenue of consumer goods and services.
According to the Vietnam E-Business Index Report 2023, the rapid growth of e-commerce ỉn recent years has clearly revealed many unsustainable factors, especially the negative impacts of e-commerce on the environment. In the online retail sector, fulfillment services including logistics and last-mile delivery, make enormous amounts of waste to our landfills and contribute in large part to CO2 emissions. These negative impacts are even higher in the super express delivery.
In order to develop sustainably and environmentally friendly e-commerce in the coming years, stakeholders including state management agencies, businesses, research and training institutions, socio-professional organisations need to closely coordinate and implement appropriate activities.
Implementing to Decision No.
