The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) will offer a wide range of opportunities for Vietnamese farm produce exports, including fruit and vegetable exports to the EU, but exporters must first satisfy the goods’ origin traceability standard.

Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan reached consensus on the point of time for the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to take effect, during their phone talks on June 8.

Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh recently spoke with ASEAN Secretary General Lim Jock Hoi about economic recovery plans for the bloc and maintaining regional supply chains in the post Covid-19 period, as well as the next steps to cope with the pandemic. Revenues of business-to-consumer sales is projected to increase to US$35 billion by 2025, for accounting for 10% of Viet Nam’s total retail sales of goods and services.
