The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has forecasted that Vietnam will have many opportunities from digitalisation and green transformation, according to IMF Asia and Pacific Department Director Krishna Srinivasan.

Vietnam is facing a significant shortage of human resources, both in quantity and quality, for occupations related to the information and communication technology sector. As the nation is promoting the National Digital Transformation Programme to 2025, Vietnam aims to develop digital government, economy and society, the need to fill this gap has become more urgent than ever.

The annual Report on Digital Transformation 2023 was launched by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) at a press conference in Hanoi on April 9, providing enterprises with an insight into the twin green and digital transition trend in the world.

To increase brand recognition and to access more customers, Vietnamese wood, furniture, and handicraft businesses need to consider and invest systematically in online sales activities, diversifying sales channels in their business strategies, Vice Chairwoman of the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA) Duong Minh Tue has said.
